Councilwoman Dr. Palmer-Roberts proudly represents District 4 on the North Charleston City Council. Raised in the historic Liberty Hill community, Dr. Palmer-Roberts brings deep-rooted commitment, lived experience, and decades of leadership to her role in public service. She now resides in the Coosaw Preserve community, continuing her strong connection to and advocacy for the people of North Charleston.
As a mother of three, first-generation college graduate, and the first Chief Operating Officer of the Southeast’s premier podiatry practice, she embodies resilience, vision, and dedication. Her personal journey from humble beginnings to accomplished professional reflects a deep understanding of hard work, sacrifice, and determination.
With over 30 years of experience in management, legal affairs, human resources, and organizational leadership, Councilwoman Dr. Palmer-Roberts has a proven ability to develop and manage complex systems and projects. She currently serves as Chief Operating Officer and Executive Cabinet Member of Physicians Footcare, where she oversees a multi-state operation with over 100 employees across South Carolina, Georgia, and New York.
Councilwoman Dr. Palmer-Roberts is a strong advocate for equity, inclusion, and community-centered governance. She believes in the power of trust built through positive engagement—a principle rooted in the social exchange theory that guides her approach to leadership. Her passion for service and deep ties with the community have earned her a respected reputation throughout the city.
She is a forward-thinking leader with a demonstrated ability to engage and unite a diverse community through inclusive, strategic planning. Her extensive background in executive management equips her with the tools to lead with transparency and fiscal responsibility, ensuring that taxpayer dollars are allocated wisely and effectively to meet the evolving needs of the district.
Her proudest role is being a mother to her three children—Cameron, Kaitlyn, and Courtney—who continue to inspire her daily. Their success fuels her commitment to creating a better, more equitable future for all families in North Charleston. She is also a proud fur-mom to Boots, her beloved Miniature Schnauzer, who adds daily joy and companionship to her life.
As Councilwoman, Dr. Palmer-Roberts is focused on advancing smart, inclusive development; improving infrastructure; supporting public safety; and ensuring that the voices of District 4 along with all residents of the City of North Charleston are heard and respected at every level of city government. With a pragmatic approach, a commitment to fiscal stewardship, and a heart for service, she is honored to serve and advocate for the residents of the City of North Charleston representing District 4.
